Building is less restrictive now
The 1.0.5 patch notes change the building rules in several ways: pieces can be placed on dusty ground, built on, under or beside foundations, and machines snap more cleanly to the foundation you aim at.
- Build anywhere: dusty ground is pressed flat as you build, so cleaning the patch first is no longer required.
- Move Mode: press R with the building tool to pick up a piece and what is standing on it, then place it again for free.
- Full refund: removing a piece returns its full price instead of 75%.
- Machine snapping: machines line up with foundation edges, centres and grids more predictably.
J.O.O.N.A.S. and large bases
J.O.O.N.A.S. now sends capsules toward the emptiest catcher in the nearest catcher group instead of filling one while a neighbouring catcher stays empty. The update also fixes a loading freeze that could show as “Not Responding”, reduces big-base stutters and raises the ground capsule limit from 10,000 to 90,000.
What to update in an old guide
- Remove any instruction that says every dusty patch must be cleaned before placing a foundation.
- Explain Move Mode before telling players to demolish a working layout.
- Re-test catcher placement because J.O.O.N.A.S. delivery now considers the emptiest catcher in a nearby group.
- Record the patch number beside screenshots, prices and performance claims.
