PokéBonk patch notes v0.8.77: co-op pause and shiny legendary pity

PokéBonk v0.8.77 update notes: team pause, reserve protection bubbles, reconnect fixes, saved maps and account-based shiny legendary pity.

Historical v0.8.77 report · live site now v0.8.78The detailed mechanics below belong to the Oct 29 report. Check the current game before assuming they changed or stayed the same.

What changed in v0.8.77

  • Team pause: co-op players can start a team pause with P or from the pause menu. The report says each run has a total five-minute pause budget.
  • Protection bubbles: co-op protection changed to a reserve-based system rather than a single one-off state.
  • Shiny legendary pity: the account-based protection is reported for Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mew and Mewtwo.
  • Match and save fixes: reconnect and Find a Match issues were addressed, Save & Quit now keeps the explored map, and the pause menu adds a Stuck option.

What this means for a current run

In co-op, pause from the keyboard or menu before a real interruption instead of assuming the old pause behaviour still applies. Treat the protection bubble as a reserve to manage across the run, and keep the team on the same live build when testing a reconnect or matchmaking fix.

For shiny legendary hunting, use the account that should keep the progress and record the target, mode and visible version. Do not turn the word “pity” into a made-up attempt count: no reliable public odds, counter size or retroactive rule is verified here.

Confirmed versus reported

The original PokéBonk site now shows v0.8.78; its public version endpoint also reports that build. The bullet-by-bullet mechanic list below is a historical v0.8.77 report, so the current pause menu, matchmaking screen and shiny legendary screen remain the final check.
